Introduction

Overview

The Feature Roadmap shows where the RARE platform is heading. It brings together our high‑level product plans with the underlying system requirements that drive each release.

Use this page to see:

• What’s planned for upcoming portal and mobile releases.

• Which areas of the platform we’re investing in (for example, data analysis, configuration management, audit and compliance).

• How our roadmap relates to the detailed release notes listed under Release History.

In practical terms, we are focusing on:

• Better data analysis: richer tools to explore, compare, and re‑run analyses so you can optimise assays and readers with confidence.

• Stronger configuration and traceability: clearer control over methods, classifiers, and devices, with full audit trails that support use in regulated environments.

• Smoother day‑to‑day use: navigation, self‑service options, and integrated help that reduce friction for routine tasks.

• Right‑sized access to features: a subscription model that keeps core workflows straightforward, while letting you unlock advanced capabilities when you need them.

This roadmap is forward‑looking. It focuses on features and themes that are planned or in progress for upcoming RARE releases.

It is organised into:

• Near‑term roadmap – Features that are planned or in progress for the next portal release and other upcoming versions.

• Longer‑term roadmap – Themes and planned capabilities for later versions.

Roadmap

Near‑term work

In addition to the latest release continuous improvements across the platform will be ongoing, including:

• Tighter portal–mobile alignment
  Ensuring that new portal features are supported by compatible mobile capture workflows where needed.

• Improved guidance and help
  Enhancing prompts, tooltips and embedded guidance in the product to reduce training needs and support consistent result capture.

Longer‑term

We are planning additional capabilities across the platform, building on the data already captured per result (including phone model and OS).

Portal

• Phone variability analysis and normalisation
  New report modules to quantify inter-phone variability (between models) and intra-phone variability (within a single model). These will enhance both quantitative batch analysis and qualitative classifier analysis by decomposing device-related variance and supporting normalisation mapping to reduce variability across the phone models used in the field.

• Camera optics configuration management
  Enable users to add and manage their own phone models within the camera optics configuration, extending device coverage without requiring an admin update

• Peak search methods on result profiles
  Advanced analysis tools for identifying and working with peaks on result profiles, supporting more detailed quantitative and qualitative assessments.

App

• Offline and queued upload robustness (mobile)
  Continued improvements to how the app handles low‑connectivity environments, including clearer visibility of queued results and automatic upload when connectivity returns.
